2E – Dual extra functions (2E) is an additional proportional valve for external hydraulic work tools. Cannot be combined with high-flow.
AFT – AFT stands for Attachment Frame Tool and is a tool attachment frame. We have both bolted (AFT ST, AFT HD) and weldable (Welded).
Boost valve – Optional for QuickChange machine couplers. Used when the machine has a locking circuit that cannot be modified to provide full system pressure.
Breakout force - The force that is achieved at the bucket tip.
Breakout torque - The torque that is achieved around the pin in the stick.
CCU - Cabin control unit.
Double-acting cylinders – Hydraulic cylinders that allow the tiltrotator to tilt. Double-acting cylinders give a higher tilting torque but are larger in size (taller) compared to single-acting cylinders.
Single-acting cylinders/Telescopic cylinders – Hydraulic cylinders that allow the tiltrotator to tilt. Single-acting cylinders take up less space but have a lower tilting torque compared to double-acting cylinders.
Attachment or Attachment system – There is both an attachment frame (upper part of the tiltrotator, towards the excavator arm) and a quick coupler (lower part of the tiltrotator, towards the work tool). The attachments are available in various designs and “makes” and can be S-standard (e.g. S30-S80), Bofors attachments (S1 or S2), pin grabs (which pick up work tools that are designed to be mounted directly on the excavator arm) as well as “hydraulic quick couplers” (e.g. QC45-QC80).
HCU – Hydraulic control unit. Used in combination with valve block shunt
HF – High-flow (HF) is an option that can deliver flow performance of up to 200 l/min from a hydraulic circuit, depending on the machine and tiltrotator model.
HFS – High-Flow Swivel (HFS) is a swivel that can handle higher pressures and flows, as much as 250 litres/min, enabling the use of more types of hydraulic tools.
ICS - Rototilt’s Innovative Control System is Rototilt’s former control system.
Attachment frame – Where the excavator arm is connected to the tiltrotator. Sits on top of the tiltrotator. Can be connected directly to the machine or to a machine coupler that uses a specific attachment system.
ILS – Rototilt’s Innovative Lubrication System enables central lubrication of the tiltrotator. The ILS package consists of a robust distribution block and hoses that are connected to the tiltrotator’s various lubricating points. The block can be connected to the excavator’s central lubrication and then quickly distributes lubrication in the correct amount, alternatively you may lubricate all the tiltrotator’s lubrication points manually from two points.
LHV – Rototilt’s load-holding valve is a safety function to ensure that no load can be dropped in the event of a hose rupture or lost hydraulic pressure. This provides both safe working conditions around the excavator and prevents damage to loads.
Machine coupler – Sits on the machine’s excavator arm and enables the operator to switch between different work tools hydraulically or mechanically. A machine coupler uses a specific attachment system and can pick up tools that have this same particular attachment.
Machine kit – A machine kit from Rototilt includes RC™ Joysticks and an electrical kit.
Open-S – Open-S is a common standard for the hydraulic interface between machine coupler, tiltrotator and/or work tool, which ensures that the quick couplers included in the standard are compatible between different manufacturers and products. The interface is based on the S standard.
Pallet fork assistance – Pallet fork assistance is an option that helps the operator to handle the load more safely.
The RC series – The RC series is our latest tiltrotator series, RC™ Tiltrotators, which provides an even smoother operating experience, greater energy efficiency and higher precision. The RC4-RC9 have pressure-compensated hydraulics, which allow the tiltrotator’s various functions to work independently of each other in order to provide precise control of tilt and rotation, even if you want to operate these at different speeds.
RCJ – RC™ Joysticks are our own joysticks. RC™ Joysticks’ award-winning design has been subjected to extensive field testing with real machine operators, and boasts good ergonomic properties as well as great opportunities for personal adaptation.
RCS – Rototilt Control System or RC™ System is a proportional control system that allows you to harness the tiltrotator’s functions in one and the same excavation movement. Together with the pressure-compensated hydraulics in the RC series, you can use the tiltrotator with greater precision than ever before.
RC™ Connect – RC™ Connect is our remote support app. To get started, simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play and sync with your control system via the display in your cab. RC™ Connect only works with the RC series.
Work tools, excavator tools – All the tools an excavator can use. E.g. buckets, grabs, compactors, flails, mulchers, hydraulic hammers, etc.
Quick coupler – An attachment that is located under the tiltrotator, making it possible to use an excavator tool that has a corresponding attachment system.
RPS – With Rototilt Positioning Solution, it is possible to see a precise position specification, on the excavation system’s display and in real time, showing how the tiltrotator is rotated and tilted. Works in combination with our control systems and existing excavation system brands such as Leica, Topcon, Trimble, MOBA/Novatron, L5, DigAssist, DigPilot, iDig, Makin 3D, UniControl and XL Pro.
SecureLock™ – A function and a safety lock for securely connecting work tools to the quick coupler. The function provides confirmation to the excavator operator that the tool is properly connected. SecureLock™ satisfies EN 474, ISO 13031 and other applicable safety requirements, which are intended to prevent accidents that occur due to dropped work tools. SecureLock™ interacts with our control systems and combines mechanical and electronic functions with clear audible signals and continuous monitoring.
Shift valve hammer/shears kit – Optional for QuickChange machine couplers. Used when you want to be able to run bi-directional hydraulics, or uni-directional hydraulics with free return.
Swivel – A co-rotating interface that allows hydraulic oil to be transported between the excavator and the work tool, without reducing or eliminating any of the tiltrotator’s functions. The swivel is mounted directly on the quick coupler to minimise the risk of leakage, minimise pressure drops and increase the flow capacity.
TE – Tilt-Extra, directional valve that enables switching between the tilt function and the additional hydraulic outlet on your tiltrotator. The system is designed to operate with dual hydraulic functions from the machine. The tilt and rotation functions can be used at the same time if permitted by the machine. The quick coupler on the tiltrotator is controlled by existing, branched “locking hydraulics” from the machine.
TLE – Tilt-Lock-Extra, directional valves that enable switching between the tilt function and an additional hydraulic outlet on your tiltrotator. The quick coupler on the tiltrotator is also controlled by this system. The system is designed to operate with dual hydraulic functions from the machine. The tilt and rotation functions can be used at the same time if permitted by the machine.
Pressure-relief function – Optional for QuickChange machine couplers. Relieves hydraulic pressure when connecting. Requirement when using cutting and crushing tools or similar demolition tools, where large cylinders can accumulate large oil volume and high pressures.
Pressure reduction valve – Reduces the locking pressure down to 50 bar if the base machine’s locking pressure is high and cannot be reduced from the machine.
Q14 – Q14 is an electrical connector for fully automatic quick couplers. The Q14 has a longer service life and delivers higher reliability.
QC – QuickChange (QC) is a fully automatic quick coupler system that allows you to change work tools without having to leave the cab. QuickChange has a specially developed nose seal and greatly improved flow performance. QuickChange is available as a “sandwich solution”, which entails QuickChange in both the attachment frame and the quick coupler.
